Healthcare Consultancy

What we do

We help healthcare organisations to understand their most important challenges and achieve sustainable improvements.

Experience and skill matter

Healthcare is a complex, dynamic environment which faces numerous strategic and operational challenges. It can be difficult for leaders to create space to stand back and view their organisation and its priorities and challenges with genuine objectivity.

An external consultant with the right experience and skills can help. We have extensive experience at executive director level in large, complex healthcare organisations in Australia and the UK. We have worked with government and the health service and have a genuine understanding of its environment, culture, policies, procedures and challenges.

Examples of our previous experience

High quality patient services

Develop and coordinate the implementation of nursing and midwifery (N&M) strategies aligned to the organisational strategic direction to ensure high quality clinical practice.

Specialised, effective and sustainable workforce

Review the N&M workforce and facilitate changes to ensure it remains contemporary, efficient and fit for purpose.

  • Define the roles of and introduce / maximise the scope of nurse practitioners and assistants in nursing

  • Develop strategies and improved processes for N&M recruitment and retention, and reduce reliance on external temporary N&M staff

  • Develop methodology for comprehensive review of skill-mix and role reprofiling

Establish governance processes to foster collaboration between hospitals to develop a healthy N&M workforce across the whole health system.

Service redesign and patient service improvement

Coordinate the development and introduction of a new emergency department (ED) model of care in partnership with the multidisciplinary team. Reconfigure ED services to expand adult ED, open a dedicated paediatric ED and redesign other associated inpatient and outpatient services.

Coordinate the service reorganisation needed to achieve organisational workforce and cost reduction targets.

Multi-disciplinary education and leadership development

Lead the development of an education and training plan for all staff, to better support clinical services and improve patient outcomes.

Provide nursing and midwifery leadership development workshops on a range of topics, including communication, change management and managing conflict constructively. Workshops are developed to meet clients’ specific goals.
